His straight-forward approach has earned him a reputation as a decisive leader and astute problem solver who gets things done. His goal is to continue to maintain honest, positive relationships with all who engage with Arcurve. His previous experience includes Alberta Treasury Branch, Merak, Schlumberger and Pandell. Jay spends his free time trying to unsuccessfully apply his management strategies to his family life. He has been known to dabble in the culinary arts and frequently tries to expand the palettes of co-workers, friends and family. His unique perspective on life, music, and culture are a constant source of entertainment for people around him.

Michael’s area of expertise includes business development, petroleum economics, decision analysis, portfolio management, and a knack for spatially-appropriate parking. His involvement with successful global E&P projects at Schlumberger, Merak and IBM bring a wealth of domain experience to the Arcurve team. Michael’s time away from the office is primarily spent with his family, and he has been known to chase the odd hockey puck and read a book or two.

He is the former CEO and President of Merak Projects (an international software development company), and a former Partner with Bennett Jones with a focus on corporate and M&A law. Stuart is also currently the Chairman of the Board of Flint Energy Services Ltd., a TSX listed oilfield services company, as well a director of various other private companies. In his spare time, Stuart enjoys the outdoors, including skiing, canoeing, and hiking. He also enjoys working as a ranch hand fixing fences with his family south of Calgary.

Mike has an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and his technical background spans diverse areas such as electronics, medical image processing, real-time control systems, 3D audio, and highly-available internet-scale business systems. He is a former Principal Consultant with Microsoft Consulting Services and has senior management experience with a variety of software product and service companies. At Arcurve, Mike is realizing his goal of creating an environment where people passionate about software craftsmanship can work together, build off each other’s success and excel as a team. To the humour and occasional annoyance of his family, Mike has many ongoing projects around the house; some more successful than others. Everything from plumbing to iPhone screen replacement is fair game.
