YYCTech Food Bank Challenge

In support of the CBC Suncor Energy Food Bank Drive, we are working with local Technology Companies to raise funds the Calgary Food Bank. This amazing organization can take $1.00 of donations and turn it in to $4.00 of food for families and individuals in crisis.

Many participating local Technology Companies got their start here in the Calgary marketplace and are able to thrive and grow based on the support of the community.  At this time of year, it's our turn to give back in a way that helps that community stay thriving and vibrant.

If you are a like-minded Technology company and would like to be part of this community fundraising initiative, there are many ways you can participate:

  • have your staff plan some internal fundraising initiatives and watch their creativity soar!
  • participate in some of the Calgary Food Bank's Volunteer activities including working the assembly line and be a "hands on" donor
  • write a cheque and present it at one of the CBC Suncor Energy Food Bank Drive drop off locations

If you would like to find out more about what other companies are doing to participate, or simply want to keep track about how the YYCTech Food Bank Challenge is going, there are many avenues:

"Like" the YYCTech Facebook page at  YYCTech Facebook Page.  Donors can post comments on the wall about their fundraising efforts (maybe you can get some ideas?!) and any participating companies with a corporate Facebook page will be "Friended" to help create a tech community. Corporate logos, videos, etc can also be shared, a great way to show how giving is part of your corporate culture!

@YYCTech will "tweet" shout outs to all companies that donate to the Tech Community Food Bank Challenge.  @YYCTech can follow all corporate Twitter accounts of participating companies and all media mentions will be tweeted.  Tweet something about your participation from your corporate Twitter account and @YYCTech will retweet to help spread the word. Use the #YYCTech hash tag so we can track our progress.
