1. How long have you been in the city you live in and what brought you there?

a. I was born and raised in Calgary. I have lived here my entire life, and my wife Sharon is also born and raised here. Our families have been the primary reason that we have stayed in Calgary. The proximity of the mountains, and seeing the city grow and mature have kept us here as well.

2. What field of study/practice did you pursue?

a. I went to the University of Calgary and completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. I also completed a Minor in Pure Math

b. I started my career in the IT field in IT Desktop Support, and gradually move through to IT infrastructure, to IT Project Management and eventually to Arcurve as Project Manager

3. What are your hobbies/interests?

a. Lego!

b. Golfing – although not very good at it.

c. Gardening – I spend a lot of time each summer prepping and getting the garden ready.

d. Anything math/stats related. I have a keen interest in the stock market, sports wagering, poker, board games. Anything to do with probability is something that has always interested me.

4. Tell us something fun/interesting not many people at work know about you!

a. We LOVE donuts, we even have a “Come back with Donuts” Door mat in our house. Wherever we travel, we always try and seek out the local donut place and have some donuts.

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?

a. At the moment – Japan. I have not been to Japan yet and it is at the top of our bucket list to visit. We would love to explore the restaurants, the technology they have implemented there, and experience their culture.

6. If you could have dinner with one person living or dead who would it be?

a. My grandmother who is still alive. Due to a number of circumstances, I have not seen her in close to a decade and I would like to do that soon.

7. If you had to eat one thing and one thing only for the rest of your life, what would it be?

a. Eggs – Can cook them in many ways. I love eggs to begin with and I would not get bored of them as quickly as something else.

8. What are you passionate about?

a. Food – I love food. Cooking food, eating it, and experiencing new restaurants. If money was not an issue, I would be a food blogger or food critic.

b. Music – I love listening to all kinds of music. I listen to music when I am working, driving, cooking.

9. What are some things you’ve accomplished/are proud of?

a. This is a tough one as the years have gone by. I would say I am proud of the teamwork that my wife and I have established in our relationship. We have grown together over the past decade and started to raise a family. We have our ups and downs, but we have them together as a team.

10. If you could achieve one thing in the next five years (big goal) what would it be?

a. To make a positive impact in my community. Whether this is in our local community, our local school, the city of Calgary, or Arcurve. I have spent the majority of my life focusing on bettering myself and my family. I would like to shift my focus on the wider community and help make an impact there.

11. What brought you to Arcurve?

a. Arcurve needed some help with some IT work and I was happy to help. This led to some Project Management opportunities that I was happy to take on.

12. What about Arcurve makes you want to stay? (Does it challenge you, help you grow in your role?)

a. The people are what makes me stay. We are all willing to help each other, we are happy to help others improve and are willing to improve ourselves. We also look to help our clients do what is best for them. I also love what we are doing with the Internship program and helping the next generation take their next steps. I have learned so much in my short time here from others, such as our President, all the way through to our high school interns.

b. At the current stage of my career Arcurve is the perfect fit for me, and I hope to contribute back as much as I can.
