I recently pivoted into tech after 15 years in the Energy Industry. In my past life, I was a Project Manager executing pipeline integrity projects with a midstream company. After years of industry volatility, it was time to make a change. I spent time taking courses and obtaining certifications to prepare for my pivot. In May of 2021, after identifying a few roles I was qualified for, I applied and waited. I wrote an honest, informal cover letter, and was called for an interview at Arcurve a week later.
My initial interview went well. I interviewed with a few Arcurvians who made sure I felt at ease while we discussed the role. Although I have a non-traditional background, they decided to take a chance on me. In my second interview, I met my current leader, Melenie. We chatted, I answered her questions, and she gave the green light.
Arcurve extended an offer to me shortly after, and I’m glad they did. I became an Arcurvian on June 16, 2021. When I look at my life before Arcurve, I worked with great people and did interesting work. Now, at Arcurve, I have that and more. I appreciate my leaders, for taking a chance on me. My co-workers make me smile every day. I am part of a community that accepts me as I am. I go to work every day as my authentic self. We treat each other with respect.
Arcurve is not just a company, it’s a family-oriented, inclusive community where you feel supported and have fun while delivering world-class software products and services. Arcurve’s Ieaders invest in you and your development, while inspiring you to do your best work. I have bi-monthly meetings with Dina de Belen, the Director of Service Delivery and she is always available to provide support and assist with my training plan. My current leader, Melenie is open, and supportive. She leads by example and facilitates an open, collaborative work culture.
Each day, I wake up with gratitude that I have found such a great place to work. Our project team has exceptional skills and experience. We laugh, we deliver, we succeed. I am looking forward to continued positivity and growth with my new community at Arcurve.
